Cookie Policy

What RoadmapMint stores in your browser, why, and for how long.

Last updated: October 2026

1. What This Page Covers

This page lists what RoadmapMint stores in your browser (cookies, local storage and session storage), what each item is for and how long it lasts. It is meant to match what the site actually does. We do not use advertising cookies or other tracking for advertising.

2. What the Site Needs, or Remembers at Your Request

These items keep the site working or remember a choice you made. They are not used to track you across other sites, and the site does not ask for consent for them.

The Contact page and subscribe form cookie. rm_contact_sid points to temporary values held on our server (for the subscribe form: a form-security token and the address you asked a code for, until the code is used or expires after about 15 minutes), separate from your assessment session. They are a form-security token, a one-time form reference, and a one-time result notice that is shown once after you send. If sending fails or a field needs correcting, what you typed is also kept there so the form can be filled in again for you. We clear a result notice after about 15 minutes, an unused form reference after about 2 hours and a duplicate-send marker after about 10 minutes, and the server’s normal session clean-up removes the rest. When these values expire, the message you already sent is not affected: it is an email in our support mailbox, described in the Privacy Policy. The Contact page also records short-lived counters, keyed by a one-way hash of your IP address and of the sender email address, to limit abuse. They are not cookies and are not stored in your browser.

How the default currency is chosen. To pick it, our server checks the country of your IP address with its GeoIP service: a local database where one is installed, otherwise an online lookup service, which then receives the address. The country result is used for that one answer and is not saved on our side. This is separate from the browser storage above. If a lookup cannot be completed, the server’s GeoIP log can record the IP address and the reason; log files are deleted after the log retention period (30 days unless changed). Your own choice with the selector is only ever saved in your browser.

Where a form uses a Cloudflare Turnstile security check to stop automated abuse, the check is loaded from Cloudflare and may keep its own technical data in your browser. That is governed by Cloudflare’s own policies.

RoadmapMint can use a third-party analytics service, Google Analytics, to count visits and understand which pages are used and how visitors move from the assessment to payment. It is off by default. Nothing is loaded from the service, and no analytics cookie or analytics marker is stored, until you choose “Accept” in the cookie notice. If you choose “Decline” or make no choice, it stays off and the site works the same. Your choice is remembered on your device for 12 months, and you can change it at any time with the button below.

If you accept, this service may set cookies in your browser and receive technical information such as your browser, device, referring page, the pages you view and the network address of your connection (which Google says it uses only for basic functions such as approximate location and does not keep in raw form). Google Analytics is used with Google signals and ad personalisation turned off, and it receives the events we send it: starting the assessment, opening checkout, and a completed purchase, including the order ID, order amount, currency and the product purchased. We use this only to improve the site. Your assessment answers, name and email address are never sent to this service.

If you accept, the site also keeps a few small once-only markers in session storage, named rm_ga_ followed by a purpose (for example the order ID), so that a start, checkout or purchase event is counted once. They hold no name, email address or answers and are removed when you close the tab. If you decline or have not chosen, these markers are not written, and any that exist are removed when you decline.

4. Advertising

To learn which of our own adverts lead to an order, RoadmapMint can use advertising-measurement tools from Google Ads, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Quora. They are off by default. Nothing is loaded from them, and none of their cookies is set, until you choose “Accept” in the cookie notice. If you choose “Decline” or make no choice, they stay off and the site works the same. Your choice is remembered on your device for 12 months and you can change it with the button below.

If you accept, these companies receive what any website you visit receives when it loads their script: your IP address, browser and device details, the campaign or click identifier from the advert you came from, and the address of the page (we remove any other part of the address first, so an order ID never leaves the site). They may set their own cookies, which they use under their own policies. When an order is paid, we tell them only the order amount and currency (Quora and LinkedIn are told only that a purchase happened). We never send them your name, email address, phone number, order ID, assessment answers or any hashed version of these, and we do not use your visit to build remarketing audiences.

If you accept, the site also remembers, in your browser’s local storage under the name rm_ads_src, the name of the advertising platform whose advert you came from (for example “reddit”), for up to 30 days. It holds only that platform name. It is used so that a paid order is reported only to that one platform, and is deleted if you decline.

5. Payment Providers and Fonts

When you pay, you deal directly with the payment provider shown at checkout (Razorpay or PayPal). It may set its own cookies to process the payment securely, under its own privacy and cookie practices rather than ours.

The site’s text font (Inter) is loaded from Google Fonts, so your browser contacts Google’s font servers when a page loads, whatever you choose about analytics.

6. Managing Cookies and Storage

You can clear cookies, local storage and session storage at any time in your browser settings. Clearing them resets your theme and currency and cookie choice, and the cookie notice will ask again. If your browser blocks storage altogether, the site still works; it just cannot remember these choices.
